Short answer: Hapkido is an ecclectic martial arts discipline with a coheasive set of principles that explores the relationship of human physiology and self defense.
It incorporates striking, kicking, throwing, joint locks, take-downs, chokes, traditional weapons, etc; as tools in exploring this relationship.
Self defense is simply one of the many by-products of martial arts training and is not the only focus in Hapkido. At its core, the art embodies a holistic approach to mind-body fitness, personal growth, and self protection.
We offer daily beginner-friendly classes 5 times a week.
* Please note that trial class visit are by appointment only.
Sure! We can arrange that.
Recently, in consideration of our members’ privacy, we’ve had to discourage walk-ins coming simply to “watch our classes”.
Understandably some people felt uncomfortable with strangers sitting in to watch them sweating their butts off in class 🙂
However, we are happy to schedule a visit to check out the school or meet with a member of our staff. If you are perhaps simply curious about martial arts training, we have lots of class footage on our social media channels to watch. Look up #TorontoHapkido.
